14) The Rise of the Pegasus

Aeons ago, the great white horse went astray,
Into the deep cold dark, it lost it's way.
Wandered it alone, biding it's time -
In the blighted lands seeking traces of the Divine.

When the frantic efforts, it seemed had failed,
To the moonless skies great fears it allayed.
To the heavens sought it, the polestar's company
Alas!even Orion was lost in the clouds black canopy.

Fate smilingly watched at the creatures impending doom,
But Destiny intruded banishing death with a thunderous boom.
In response to the feral cries , a beam of light down shone
Golden rays then engulfed the beast that was grounded alone.

Within the cocoon the mighty transformation had begun
And the golden vault now radiated the warmth of the sun.
Grew it's brilliance then to spread far and wide.
Darkness fled to the shadows with nowhere to hide.

Fate lamented sorrowfully, how the tides had turned
Now on earth stood a 'Pegasus' with its proud wings unfurled!
From the darkness rose the mythical horse against all odds-
Even today,All of mankind reminisces in awe - this gift from the Gods.
